A Super Namekian named Slug comes to invade Earth. But the Z Warriors do their best to stop Slug and his gang.
Lord Slug is a fairly formulaic entry in the DBZ film lineup, recycling the 'powerful alien invader threatens Earth' template with little variation from earlier movies like Dead Zone or The World's Strongest. The plot is thin even by DBZ movie standards, with Slug's presence feeling like a retread of Garlic Jr. The animation is competent and has some energetic action sequences typical of the era, giving it a slight edge in cinematography. The acting (Japanese VA work) is serviceable but unremarkable. The ending is abrupt and unsatisfying, relying on a convenient Kaioken/False Super Saiyan burst that feels unearned. Novelty is low as it offers little that distinguishes it from its predecessors in the franchise.
