Four best friends negotiate loss and major life changes during the last two weeks of high school.
Dude is a fairly standard coming-of-age high school comedy about female friendship and growing up, covering familiar territory around loss and life transitions without particularly distinguishing itself. The performances from its young cast are competent and carry some genuine warmth, but the plot recycles well-worn tropes of the genre. Cinematography is unremarkable and functional. The ending provides modest emotional closure but nothing surprising. It sits comfortably in the average range for its genre.
