Dracula, Mavis, Johnny and the rest of the Drac Pack take a vacation on a luxury Monster Cruise Ship, where Dracula falls in love with the ship’s captain, Ericka, who’s secretly a descendant of Abraham Van Helsing, the notorious monster slayer.
Hotel Transylvania 3 is a competent but formulaic animated sequel that recycles the franchise's established comedic beats in a new setting. The cruise ship backdrop adds visual variety but the plot — Dracula falling for a secret Van Helsing — is predictable and resolved without meaningful stakes. Voice performances are energetic and professional, consistent with the series. The animation is technically polished with colorful, fluid visuals befitting the studio style, though nothing groundbreaking. As a third installment leaning heavily on familiar character dynamics and franchise humor, novelty is limited. The ending wraps up tidily but lacks the emotional resonance that might elevate it above a serviceable family comedy conclusion.
