A young man washes ashore, his memory gone - but his past comes back to haunt him after he is nursed back to health and his killing ability is needed when he takes on a powerful drug lord.
Headshot is an Indonesian martial arts action film directed by The Mo Brothers, starring Iko Uwais. The plot is a familiar amnesiac-warrior-reclaims-identity premise with little originality, leaning heavily on genre conventions. Acting is functional but thin outside of action sequences, with character development minimal. Cinematography and action choreography are the film's genuine strengths — the fight sequences are brutal, kinetically staged, and well-shot, elevating the visual presentation above average. Novelty is limited; while the Indonesian action wave (Post-The Raid) brings some regional flavor, the film largely recycles the amnesiac revenge thriller template without distinguishing itself sufficiently. The ending delivers satisfying if predictable action payoff without meaningful narrative resolution.
