The Quartile Take

You Get Me is a straightforward and highly derivative teen thriller that borrows heavily from Fatal Attraction and similar obsession narratives without adding anything distinctive. The plot is predictable from the outset, hitting every familiar beat of the 'dangerous infatuation' genre with little surprise. The acting is serviceable but unremarkable, with characters remaining largely one-dimensional. Cinematography is glossy in a generic Netflix-teen-movie way but offers nothing memorable. The ending resolves things in a formulaic, tidy fashion. The film's biggest weakness is its utter lack of novelty — it recycles a well-worn premise without a distinctive voice, twist, or execution.
