The Quartile Take

Killing Gunther is a low-budget found-footage action comedy with an amusing mockumentary premise — eccentric assassins hunting the world's greatest hitman — that earns modest points for its quirky concept. However, the plot is thin and repetitive, relying on the same joke of bungled encounters without meaningful escalation. The acting is uneven, with Arnold Schwarzenegger's late-film cameo being the clear highlight but the ensemble feeling largely amateurish. The found-footage cinematography is functional at best and restricted by budget. The ending is underwhelming and doesn't pay off the build-up satisfyingly. The novelty is slightly above average for blending the hitman genre with mockumentary format, even if the execution doesn't fully capitalize on the idea.
