After 10 years in prison, Driver is now a free man with a single focus - hunting down the people responsible for brutally murdering his brother.
Faster is a serviceable but formulaic revenge thriller. The plot hits every expected beat of the genre with little surprise — ex-con seeks vengeance on his brother's killers — and the ending feels somewhat abrupt and unsatisfying. The acting is a notch above average thanks to Dwayne Johnson's physical presence and Billy Bob Thornton's weary detective, giving the film more weight than its script deserves. Cinematography is competent with some punchy, gritty visuals but nothing particularly distinguished. Novelty is low — the revenge framework is well-worn and the parallel hitman subplot feels borrowed rather than fresh.
