When a hapless but dedicated talent manager signs his first client who actually has talent, his career finally starts to take off.
Sandy Wexler is a middling Adam Sandler vehicle that plays to his usual Netflix-era formula: nostalgic setting, loyal ensemble of comedian friends, and a sweet but thin romantic arc. The 1990s show-business backdrop provides mild novelty but the plot is predictable and episodic without strong dramatic stakes. Acting is serviceable but broad, with Sandler leaning heavily on a gimmicky voice affectation. Cinematography is functional and unremarkable. The ending resolves warmly but without surprise. Nothing particularly stands out in any category, placing the film solidly in average territory across the board.
