Five kids wake up in a world where everybody has disappeared.
Alone (2017) is a low-budget Swedish teen sci-fi survival film with a fairly generic premise — kids wake up in a depopulated world — that doesn't do enough to distinguish itself from similar post-apocalyptic fare. The plot follows predictable beats without much depth or originality, and the young cast delivers inconsistent performances typical of youth-oriented productions. Cinematography is modestly competent, making decent use of empty urban environments to create atmosphere. The concept itself isn't new, and the execution doesn't elevate it meaningfully. The ending resolves things without much impact or memorable payoff, consistent with its below-average overall reputation.
