When an alien with amazing powers crash-lands near Mossy Bottom Farm, Shaun the Sheep goes on a mission to shepherd the intergalactic visitor home before a sinister organization can capture her.
Farmageddon is a visually delightful stop-motion spectacle from Aardman, blending their signature plasticine charm with a loving homage to Spielbergian sci-fi (E.T., Close Encounters). The cinematography and animation craft are genuinely exceptional — Aardman's meticulous attention to detail and expressive character work shine throughout, earning a well above average mark. The plot is warm and functional but fairly predictable, following a classic 'help the alien get home' arc without major surprises. The largely dialogue-free comedy lands well but the storytelling doesn't push boundaries beyond the first Shaun film. The ending is sweet and emotionally satisfying, though not particularly surprising. Novelty is moderate — while distinctly Aardman in execution, the sci-fi premise feels like familiar territory for the studio and genre mashup, making it charming rather than groundbreaking.
