A group of students visit a mansion called "Hell House," and murderous high jinks ensue.
Scary Movie 2 is a broadly formulaic horror spoof that largely retreads the first film's parody playbook while swapping slasher targets for haunted-house ones. The plot is little more than a loose scaffold for gag-delivery, the acting is serviceable slapstick but unremarkable, and the cinematography is functional at best. As a sequel it adds almost nothing distinctive to the franchise's voice — the jokes are cruder and the construction sloppier. The ending in particular is abrupt and barely lands as a payoff, feeling like the film simply runs out of material.
