The Tuccis, a close-knit family of country bumpkins, become millionaires overnight. When word gets out, nagging neighbors and acquaintances force them to leave for the big city to start anew—and openly flaunt their newfound wealth. Soon they'll realize they ain't got the faintest idea how today's upper classes actually live.
Poorly Rich is an Italian comedy remake following the well-worn fish-out-of-water premise of rural folk thrust into high society. The plot is entirely predictable and derivative, hitting every expected beat of the genre without meaningful subversion. Acting is competent but unremarkable, delivering broad comedic performances suited to the material. Cinematography is standard for Italian mainstream comedy—functional and unambitious. As a remake of an established formula, novelty is minimal; the concept offers little that hasn't been seen before. The ending resolves predictably with the family finding their roots matter more than wealth. An average entry across all dimensions with no standout qualities.
