The Quartile Take

Taxi 5 is a largely formulaic entry in the long-running French action-comedy franchise, now without its original cast. The plot recycles the same broad beats of the series — bumbling cops, fast cars in Marseille, criminal gang — without adding anything fresh, earning a low Novelty score. The acting is broad and uneven, leaning heavily on slapstick that rarely lands. Cinematography is serviceable with some decent car-chase staging, slightly above average for this type of comedic action fare. The ending wraps things up predictably with no real payoff, consistent with a below-average overall execution. The film sits firmly in 'guilty pleasure at best' territory, reflected in its middling TMDB score.
