A Saiyan Space pod crash-lands on Earth out of which a wounded Saiyan crawls: Broly, the Legendary Super Saiyan. The wounded Broly shouts out in frustration and turns into normal form. The place soon freezes, trapping him in it and he falls into a coma.
Dragon Ball Z: Broly - Second Coming is a straightforward sequel that largely retreads the first Broly film with a thinner narrative. The plot is minimal even by DBZ movie standards, essentially serving as an excuse for action set pieces with little character development or meaningful stakes. The voice acting is functional but unremarkable. Cinematography and animation are decent for mid-90s Toei productions with some energetic fight choreography but nothing groundbreaking. Novelty is low as this is a direct follow-up that recycles the Broly concept without adding much new, and the inclusion of Goten and Trunks feels more like padding than genuine innovation. The ending is a crowd-pleasing but formulaic power-of-friendship resolution that lacks the impact of stronger entries in the franchise.
