A fast-talking lawyer transforms his body and takes a vow of silence, not to be broken until he finds out who killed his wife and daughter and has his revenge.
Acts of Vengeance is a fairly generic revenge thriller that follows well-worn genre conventions without much distinction. The premise of a lawyer taking a vow of silence while bulking up for revenge has some novelty on paper, but the execution is formulaic and predictable. Antonio Banderas delivers a serviceable but unremarkable performance, and the supporting cast is similarly middling. The cinematography is competent and occasionally stylish, elevating the material slightly above its B-movie budget. The plot hits expected beats without surprise, and the resolution feels rushed and unsatisfying. The underground fighting elements feel grafted on rather than organic to the story.
