The Quartile Take

All the Money in the World is a competent but uneven thriller elevated mostly by Christopher Plummer's last-minute but memorable turn as the miserly J. Paul Getty. The plot, while grounded in a genuinely fascinating true story, struggles to build sustained tension and meanders in its pacing. The cinematography is serviceable and period-appropriate without being distinctive. The film's novelty is limited — it's a fairly conventional kidnapping thriller despite its rich historical backdrop, and the narrative structure feels formulaic. The ending deflates rather than satisfies, wrapping up abruptly without the emotional or thematic resonance the story deserves. Plummer's acting is the clear standout, while the rest of the cast delivers competent but unremarkable performances.
