The Wishbone family are far from happy. In an attempt to reconnect as a family, they plan a fun night out. However, the plan backfires when they are cursed and all turned into Monsters.
Monster Family is a formulaic animated family comedy that blends familiar monster archetypes with a generic family-reconnection storyline. The plot is predictable and derivative, borrowing liberally from Hotel Transylvania and similar fare without adding meaningful twists. The voice acting is serviceable but unremarkable, and the 3D animation is competent though uninspired by industry standards. The premise offers little novelty, as cursed-family and monster-mash concepts have been well-trodden in animation. The ending resolves predictably with family bonds restored, offering no surprises. Overall a below-average-to-average entry in the animated family genre.
