A middling French comedy sequel to a fairy tale adaptation, The Brand New Adventures of Aladdin offers little to distinguish itself. The plot is formulaic and predictable, recycling the original's framework with a new villain without meaningful innovation. Acting is serviceable but unremarkable, cinematography is functional at best for the genre, and the film brings no particular novelty as a by-the-numbers comedy sequel. The ending resolves predictably in line with the rest of the film's uninspired execution, consistent with its below-average reputation.
