When a nun broke her covenant with God to save the life of her unborn son, Aman, he was cursed for life. As an adult, Aman has killed those who have crossed him. But his curse brings his victims back to life and they pursue him for revenge, so Aman enlists a young gunman to fight by his side against his undead victims.
Gallowwalkers has an intriguing premise blending spaghetti western aesthetics with dark fantasy and zombie horror, and the skin-wearing undead cult has a genuinely distinctive visual identity that earns it some novelty points. However, the execution falls short across the board. The plot is muddled and struggles to maintain coherent momentum, the acting (including Wesley Snipes in a notably flat performance) is wooden and uninspired, and the cinematography, while occasionally stylish, is undermined by low-budget limitations and inconsistent direction. The ending resolves little and leaves audiences unsatisfied. It's a film with an interesting concept that simply doesn't deliver on its potential.
