Revenge (2017) is a slick, stylish rape-revenge thriller directed by Coralie Fargeat. The plot follows a well-worn rape-revenge template but executes it with conviction and feminist intentionality, landing above average. Acting is competent across the board, with Matilda Lutz delivering a committed physical performance. Novelty sits at 3 — while Fargeat brings a distinctive visual style and feminist gaze to a familiar genre, the film is still operating squarely within an established subgenre with recognizable beats.
