An assassin seeks redemption after being given a second chance at life.
24 Hours to Live is a mid-tier action thriller with a familiar premise—a morally conflicted assassin given a second chance at life to seek redemption. The plot is serviceable but derivative, leaning heavily on genre tropes without much subversion. Ethan Hawke brings more gravitas to the lead role than the material demands, elevating the acting above average. The South Africa setting offers some visual variety and the action cinematography is competent but unremarkable. The reincarnation/resurrection hook provides a slight sci-fi twist, but the execution doesn't distinguish the film enough to earn strong novelty marks. The ending resolves predictably, leaving little lasting impression.
