The Quartile Take

Escape Plan: The Extractors is a by-the-numbers threequel that recycles the prison-break formula with diminishing returns. The plot is formulaic and predictable, stacking hostage clichés with little ingenuity. Stallone leads a cast that feels largely disengaged, and the action sequences lack the scale or choreography to compensate for the weak script. Cinematography is serviceable but flat, lacking any visual distinction. Novelty is essentially nonexistent — this is a derivative sequel that adds nothing new to its own franchise let alone the genre. The ending resolves predictably with no dramatic weight.
