Quartile rating: 4.5/10 · 1 rating
In a world overrun by zombies, military personnel and survivalists live in an underground bunker while they seek a cure.
A low-effort remake of Romero's Day of the Dead that strips away the original's social commentary and replaces it with generic zombie-apocalypse tropes. The underground bunker setting and doctor-seeking-a-cure premise are lifted wholesale from the 1985 original without adding anything meaningful. Acting is serviceable at best, with flat characterization and wooden delivery throughout. Cinematography is competent but unremarkable, offering nothing visually distinctive. The ending resolves predictably with minimal tension or payoff. Novelty scores a 1 as this is one of the most derivative and unnecessary remakes in recent horror memory.
