The Quartile Take

F the Prom is a fairly standard teen comedy-drama that hits familiar beats: the popular girl who loses her way, the nerdy best friend, and the prom revenge plot. The plot offers little that hasn't been seen in countless high school films before it, and the acting is serviceable but unremarkable. Cinematography is competent but generic, typical of low-budget teen fare. The ending provides a mildly satisfying resolution but nothing that rises above the genre's conventions. Novelty is low given the thoroughly recycled premise and by-the-numbers execution.
