Lewis is an outwardly ordinary guy, but in reality he is hiding an obsession – revenge – against Cathy. Lewis kidnaps Cathy in broad daylight and takes her to his home, where he locks her in a soundproof cell and attempts to extract a dark secret from her past.
10x10 is a lean thriller built around a two-hander cat-and-mouse dynamic in a confined space. The acting from Luke Evans and Kelly Reilly holds the material above water, but the plot mechanics are thin and the twist/dark secret payoff feels undercooked and familiar. The cinematography is functional but unremarkable for the genre, and the premise — while superficially intriguing — doesn't do enough to distinguish itself from other revenge-kidnapping thrillers. The ending resolves predictably without the emotional or narrative punch the setup promised, leaving the film feeling like a missed opportunity.
