Murder Mystery is a breezy, crowd-pleasing Netflix comedy that leans heavily on familiar whodunit tropes and the chemistry of Sandler and Aniston. The plot is formulaic and predictable, recycling classic Agatha Christie-style setups without much invention. Sandler and Aniston have genuine likability and decent comedic timing, elevating the material above its script. The European locations (Monaco, Paris, Italian countryside) are shot competently and give the film a glossy sheen. Novelty is low — the premise is a well-worn parody of classic mystery films with little that feels fresh or distinctive. The ending wraps up too conveniently and lacks tension or surprise, feeling rushed and unearned even by the film's own lightweight standards.
