After a botched assassination attempt, the mismatched duo finds themselves in Paris, struggling to retrieve a precious list of names, as the murderous crime syndicate's henchmen try their best to stop them. Once more, Lee and Carter must fight their way through dangerous gangsters; however, this time, the past has come back to haunt Lee. Will the boys get the job done once and for all?
Rush Hour 3 is a largely formulaic entry in the franchise that recycles the same buddy-cop dynamic, fish-out-of-water humor, and action beats established in the first two films. The Paris setting adds mild visual interest but the cinematography is serviceable rather than distinctive. Chan and Tucker retain their natural chemistry and comedic timing, keeping the acting above average for the genre, but the plot is thin and derivative — a MacGuffin list, a secret villain, and predictable set pieces. Novelty scores a 1 as the film adds virtually nothing new to the formula. The ending wraps up without surprise or resonance.
