Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Michael Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.
Morbius is widely regarded as one of the weakest entries in the superhero genre. The plot is generic and poorly structured, recycling familiar origin-story beats without meaningful development or stakes. Jared Leto's performance is earnest but underserved by a thin script, and the supporting cast is similarly wasted. Cinematography leans heavily on murky, desaturated visuals and chaotic action sequences that obscure rather than impress. The film offers little that is distinctive — it treads well-worn vampire-superhero territory without a unique voice or vision. The ending and post-credits scenes are particularly criticized for being incoherent and unsatisfying, failing to set up anything compelling.
