With no means for defeating Godzilla Earth, mankind watches as King Ghidorah, clad in a golden light, descends on the planet. The heavens and earth shake once again as the war moves to a higher dimension.
The concluding chapter of Netflix's anime Godzilla trilogy leans hard into dense philosophical and religious themes—Ghidorah as a multidimensional void deity is conceptually bold—but the execution buries character and tension under heavy-handed exposition. The animation remains stylistically consistent if not always dynamic, and the interdimensional Ghidorah design is genuinely strange and striking. However, the plot resolution feels anticlimactic and unsatisfying, the human characters remain thinly drawn, and the trilogy's accumulated narrative frustrations peak here. The novelty of its abstract kaiju metaphysics saves it from full genericness, but the payoff doesn't match the ambition.
