When Superman and the rest of the Justice League are kidnapped, Krypto the Super-Dog must convince a rag-tag shelter pack - Ace the hound, PB the potbellied pig, Merton the turtle and Chip the squirrel - to master their own newfound powers and help him rescue the superheroes.
DC League of Super-Pets is a competent, cheerful animated family film with a fun premise transplanting superhero tropes onto shelter animals. The plot is functional and hits familiar beats — misfit team assembles, overcomes doubts, saves the day — without much surprise. Voice acting is solid from Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart with decent chemistry, though no one elevates the material beyond expectations. The animation is polished and colorful but doesn't push any visual boundaries, sitting comfortably within modern studio animation norms. Novelty is limited; despite the comic-book source, the execution follows a well-worn underdog ensemble formula, and the DC branding adds familiarity rather than freshness. The ending resolves predictably with little emotional payoff beyond genre convention. A perfectly enjoyable film for its target audience, but one that rarely surprises.
