Playing around while aboard a cruise ship, the Chipmunks and Chipettes accidentally go overboard and end up marooned in a tropical paradise. They discover their new turf is not as deserted as it seems.
Chipwrecked is a formulaic, by-the-numbers entry in an already derivative franchise. The plot is a thin rehash of survival/island tropes with no meaningful stakes or originality, earning a 1 for both Plot and Novelty. The live-action/CGI hybrid performances are passable but unremarkable, and the cinematography is competent but generic family-film fare. The ending wraps up predictably with zero surprise. Nothing here distinguishes itself from the lowest-common-denominator family sequel template.
