The mega corporation Omni Consumer Products is still bent on creating their pet project, Delta City, to replace the rotting city of Detroit. Unfortunately, the inhabitants of the area have no intention of abandoning their homes simply for desires of the company. To this end, OCP have decided to force them to leave by employing a ruthless mercenary army to attack and harass them. An underground resistance begins and in this fight, RoboCop must decide where his loyalties lie.
RoboCop 3 is a largely by-the-numbers sequel that strips away the sharp satire and R-rated edge that made the original memorable. The plot retreads familiar OCP-vs-Detroit territory without adding meaningful new dimensions, the resistance narrative feels underdeveloped, and the tonal shift toward a family-friendly PG-13 product undermines the franchise's identity. Peter Weller's absence is keenly felt, and the acting across the board is mediocre. Cinematography is flat and functional with none of the stylish grit of the original. Novelty is low — this is a derivative, formulaic sequel that recycles themes from the first two films without distinctive voice or craft. The ending resolves predictably with little emotional payoff. A disappointing entry that fails to honor the franchise's satirical roots.
