A tough cop is dispatched to take down a serial killer who has been targeting police officers.
Blitz is a serviceable but unremarkable British crime thriller. The plot follows a fairly formulaic serial-killer-versus-tough-cop template with little deviation, and the narrative feels thin stretched across its runtime. Jason Statham delivers his typically reliable tough-guy performance and Paddy Considine adds some genuine depth, elevating the acting above the material. Cinematography is workmanlike London grit without distinctive visual flair. The film offers little novelty — it recycles well-worn genre beats despite its source novel — and the ending resolves things abruptly without much dramatic payoff. A passable genre entry for fans of Statham but forgettable in the wider crime-thriller landscape.
