All Star Superman adapts Grant Morrison's celebrated comic run with remarkable fidelity and ambition. The film's Novelty is genuinely high — it distills a maximalist, Silver Age-inflected vision of Superman that feels unlike any other animated adaptation, blending cosmic grandeur with intimate mortality. The Ending is emotionally resonant and thematically satisfying, delivering on Superman's mythic legacy in a way that lingers. Plot is solid but compressed from the source material, losing some of Morrison's layered symbolism in the adaptation. Acting is competent with James Denton and Christina Hendricks giving warm performances, though nothing transcendent. Cinematography (animation direction) is above average with striking compositions and color work that evoke the comic's aesthetic, but the budget-constrained animation occasionally limits its visual ambition.
