A kidnapped Fred Savage is forced to endure Deadpool's PG-13 rendition of Deadpool 2, as a Princess Bride-esque story that's full of magic, wonder, and zero Fs.
Once Upon a Deadpool is essentially a re-edited PG-13 version of Deadpool 2 with a Princess Bride framing device featuring Fred Savage. The novelty of the meta-framing gimmick is amusing and earns it a slight bump, and the performances remain energetic, but the plot is fundamentally recycled from Deadpool 2 with no new story beats. The ending feels thin as it amounts to a repeat conclusion with minimal added value. Cinematography is competent but carries over from the original film. A fun curio for fans but largely derivative by design.
