Contact between most towns on Earth has been severed. A small ring-like area in Eastern Europe still has electricity, and maybe even life is being reported from space. What military forces find outside the ring is shocking.
This Russian sci-fi action film offers competent but formulaic alien invasion survival mechanics with little narrative originality. The plot borrows heavily from familiar apocalyptic tropes without adding meaningful twists. Acting is serviceable but unremarkable, with characters largely defined by their military roles rather than depth. Cinematography shows some ambition with decent scale and production value for its budget, lifting it slightly above average. The ending resolves things in a predictable fashion that leaves little lasting impression. Overall a middling genre entry that doesn't distinguish itself in any meaningful way.
