Barbie realises that fairies secretly surround everybody. She, along with the help of her friends, Taylor and Carrie, sets out to rescue Ken. He is taken to the secret fairy city, Gloss Angeles.
Barbie: A Fairy Secret is a fairly standard entry in the Barbie direct-to-video animated franchise. The plot follows a predictable rescue formula with little narrative depth or surprise. Voice acting is serviceable but unremarkable, consistent with the franchise's typical output. The 3D animation is decent for its era and budget, showing some visual flair in the fairy world design. Novelty is low as it recycles familiar fairy-tale and rescue tropes common across the Barbie series. The ending resolves neatly but without any memorable emotional payoff.
