A guy meets the woman of his dreams and invites her to his company's corporate retreat, but realizes he sent the invite to the wrong person.
The Wrong Missy is a fairly standard Adam Sandler-produced Netflix comedy that leans heavily on broad slapstick and mistaken-identity tropes without offering much originality. The plot is predictable from start to finish, following a well-worn formula of chaotic romantic comedies. Acting is serviceable but unremarkable, with Lauren Lapkus leaning into an exaggerated, one-note character. Cinematography is functional but uninspired, typical of mid-budget streaming comedies shot in a resort setting. Novelty is low as the premise, while amusing on paper, is executed in a by-the-numbers fashion recycling familiar comedy beats. The ending is telegraphed well in advance and resolves exactly as expected with no surprises.
