Khalid, entrusted with the task of eliminating former soldier turned rogue Kabir, engages in an epic battle with his mentor who taught him everything.
War (2019) is a high-octane Bollywood action spectacle directed by Siddharth Anand. Its cinematography is genuinely exceptional for Indian cinema — lush international locations, slick action choreography, and polished visuals that rival global blockbusters earn it a strong mark. The mentor-vs-protégé plot is engaging and well-paced but leans on familiar Bollywood thriller tropes, landing in above-average territory. Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff deliver committed physical performances and solid screen presence, though the acting rarely transcends the genre's conventions. Novelty is limited — the spy-action-betrayal framework is largely derivative of Western spy thrillers with Bollywood masala, offering little that feels distinctly singular. The ending, while satisfying in its spectacle, relies on a twist that feels telegraphed and somewhat contrived by the time it arrives.
