35-year-old Alice has a husband and a son. Her life seems a beautiful dream, but it soon turns out to be a nightmare. Her husband dies in a car accident and her lawyer tells her that she is on her uppers. The only way she has to earn money in a short time is by resorting to the oldest job in history.
Escort in Love is a fairly standard Italian romantic comedy with a familiar premise — a widow forced into escorting to make ends meet. The plot follows well-worn rom-com conventions without much surprise, and the cinematography is functional TV-movie level at best. Acting is passable and carries the film, while the ending offers a modest feel-good resolution typical of the genre. Novelty is limited as the concept, while relatable, treads thoroughly mapped territory.
