Quartile rating: 5.5/10 · 1 rating
A deadly virus threatens to wipe out an entire Rocky Mountain town, leaving the town doctor to find some way to escape the soldiers who enforce the town's quarantine and devise an antidote. Matters take a more deadly turn after the physician is captured by a dangerously unstable band of militia extremists.
This low-budget Steven Seagal direct-to-video thriller is a fairly generic mid-90s action film blending a virus outbreak premise with militia antagonists. The plot is formulaic and derivative, combining elements seen in countless similar thrillers without distinction. Acting is serviceable at best, with Seagal delivering his trademark wooden performance. Cinematography is unremarkable, typical of DTV productions of the era. The militia extremist angle provides a slight topical edge but is not executed in any memorable or original way. The ending resolves predictably. Across the board, this is a below-to-average film in every dimension.
