Intimate interviews, sold out concerts and archive footage that narrates the path to success of the Colombian singer and songwriter Maluma.
A fairly standard music documentary following the rise-to-fame narrative arc that has become a well-worn genre convention. Maluma's charisma and the concert footage provide some visual energy, but the film offers little that distinguishes it from countless other artist documentaries. The intimate interviews add some personal texture but don't dig deeply enough to reveal anything truly surprising about the subject. Cinematography is serviceable with decent production values from the concert sequences, but overall this is a by-the-numbers fan-oriented piece.
