Snatched off the street and held for ransom, a bound and gagged woman uses her limited powers to derail her two masked abductors' carefully laid plans.
Kidnapping Stella is a fairly straightforward German remake of the British film The Disappearance of Alice Creed, offering little that the original didn't already deliver. The plot is competent but predictable for anyone familiar with the source material or the kidnapping thriller genre. Acting is serviceable with the cast doing adequate work in a confined-space thriller. Cinematography is functional but unremarkable, leaning on the claustrophobic single-location setting without particularly stylish execution. Novelty is very low given it is a direct remake with minimal reinterpretation. The ending follows genre conventions without surprising twists or resonant payoff.
