Inspector Amaia Salazar must return to the Baztan valley in order to solve a series of suicides that seem to follow a similar pattern.
The second installment in the Baztan trilogy delivers competent procedural thriller work with Marta Etura reliable in the lead role, and the Navarrese landscape continues to provide atmospheric backdrop. However, the narrative loses some of the tight mystique that made the first film distinctive, sprawling into overly convoluted territory with multiple threads that don't resolve cleanly. The ending feels rushed and unsatisfying, failing to pay off the buildup adequately. As a sequel, it recycles the same atmospheric formula without meaningfully expanding the mythology, making it feel derivative of its predecessor rather than a fresh entry.
