The Quartile Take

Point Blank is a lean, efficient French thriller that delivers solid genre thrills without reinventing the wheel. The plot is propulsive and economical — a classic wrong-man-race-against-time premise executed with competence and pace, though it offers few surprises. Acting is solid across the board without standout performances. The Paris locations are used well and the handheld cinematography suits the kinetic energy, though it is not visually distinctive. The ending resolves satisfactorily within genre expectations. Novelty is the weakest point — the premise is familiar and the film does little to distinguish itself beyond tight execution.
