Coffee & Kareem is a formulaic buddy-cop comedy that offers little beyond its high-concept premise of a cop paired with a foul-mouthed kid. The plot follows predictable beats with no real surprises, the acting is serviceable but unremarkable even from Ed Helms and Taraji P. Henson, cinematography is flat and TV-movie level, the concept while mildly amusing is not executed in a distinctive way, and the ending resolves everything tidily without resonance. A middling Netflix comedy that lands right at its reputation.
