A bouncer with an anger management problem goes on a furious and resentful rampage after the murder of a friend.
Jolt is a serviceable but forgettable action-comedy that leans heavily on familiar revenge thriller tropes. Kate Beckinsale commits to the role and brings energy to the lead performance, and the supporting cast (Bobby Cannavale, Laverne Cox, Stanley Tucci) elevates the material. Cinematography is competent with some stylish action staging but nothing distinctive. The premise of electroshock anger management has novelty potential but the film executes it in a fairly by-the-numbers way, recycling standard one-woman-army beats. The ending, including its sequel-baiting credit stinger, feels abrupt and unsatisfying, undercutting the momentum built through the film.
