Quartile rating: 6.5/10 · 1 rating
A 17-year-old girl uses her wits, survival skills, and compassion to fight for her life, and those of her fellow classmates, against a group of live-streaming school shooters.
Run Hide Fight is a fairly straightforward Die Hard-in-a-school-shooting premise that leans heavily on genre conventions without much subversion or depth. The plot follows a predictable survival thriller arc with thin character development beyond the protagonist's backstory with her war-veteran father. Acting is serviceable but uneven, with the lead doing competent work while the villains veer into cartoonish territory. Cinematography is competent and functional, maintaining tension through tight framing and pacing. The novelty is limited — the school shooting premise is provocative but the execution is formulaic action-thriller territory. The ending resolves things adequately without much surprise or earned emotional payoff.
