Madame Web is widely regarded as one of the weakest entries in the superhero genre. The plot is incoherent and poorly structured, with a protagonist who barely uses her powers and a villain with almost no menace. Acting is serviceable at best but hampered by a weak script and awkward dialogue. Cinematography is generic blockbuster fare with nothing visually distinctive. While a clairvoyant hero is a somewhat unusual superhero concept, the execution is so by-the-numbers that it earns no novelty credit. The ending is particularly weak, resolving nothing satisfying and setting up a future that audiences had little interest in seeing.
