In the early nineties, Dr. Jacobo Grinberg’s career was blooming and he gained lots of international credit as a researcher in the fields of telepathy and neurophysiology at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. When Dr. Grinberg mysteriously disappears in 1994, the police find no trace of him. The only thing that is clear, is that all his research material, including his computers, disappeared along with him.
A gripping documentary about a genuinely mysterious unsolved disappearance of a scientist working on fringe neurophysiology and consciousness research. The subject matter is inherently compelling and distinctive, blending hard science, metaphysics, and cold-case mystery into a rare combination. The narrative structure is engaging but the lack of resolution—inevitable given the real-world mystery—leaves the ending feeling unsatisfying rather than deliberately open. Cinematography is competent documentary work without remarkable visual ambition. The high TMDB score reflects the subject's cult fascination and the film's effectiveness at sustaining intrigue around genuinely unanswered questions.
